Who attends the speakers club? Our members come from a variety of backgrounds. We have amateur actors looking to hone their craft, small business owners who want to pitch confidently, employees who want to secure a promotion or pay rise and retirees who love the social aspect and have valuable skills to pass on. We welcome visitors to our club and would ask that they contact us in advance of their attendance.
Why do we meet? Our aim has always been to build your confidence with public speaking. It might be that you have a wedding coming up and have been asked to give a speech, or you might want to ask your boss for that well deserved pay rise or promotion. You might fancy meeting new friends and giving yourself a challenge.
How are the meeting structured? Our programme spans a variety of topics, chosen by our members. Previous themes include the environment, holidays, regrets and AI technology. The beginning of the meeting hears one or two prepared speeches from our members, with the second half allowing all members to take part (if they want to!) in an "off the cuff" table topics session. This is where you are given a topic on the spot to speak about for several minutes. It is supposed to be a challenge and we expect that new members will take time to build up to this level. We are here to support you to do that.
How can I contact the club? Our email is contact@falkirkspeakers.scot
